Electric Scooter Fire on Tel Aviv Train Sparks Safety Concerns

An electric scooter caught fire on a train at the HaHagana station in Tel Aviv on September 15, narrowly avoiding a major tragedy. As a passenger was disembarking with the scooter, it suddenly ignited. A train conductor quickly reacted, pulling the burning scooter away from the train and ensuring passenger safety. Firefighters were called to the scene and extinguished the scooter. Fortunately, no passengers were injured. Following safety checks of the carriage, the train resumed its journey.

Israel Railways reiterated its strict prohibition on charging electric scooters and bicycles from train outlets, emphasizing that the rule is crucial for passenger safety and saving lives. The company highlighted that the incident demonstrates the severe danger posed by disregarding this ban, as a scooter's battery can ignite rapidly, turning a crowded train car into a deadly trap.
