Shlomo Group Launches New Multi-Brand Used and New Car Sales Network

Shlomo Group, owner of Israel's largest leasing company Shlomo Sixt, has launched a new venture called Shlomo NEW. This multi-brand "mega dealer" will offer a wide selection of used cars, "zero-kilometer" vehicles, and even new cars under one roof. The initiative aims to provide a comprehensive car buying experience, including test drives, financing solutions, trade-ins, and service packages through Shlomo Group's existing infrastructure.

The first Shlomo NEW showrooms have opened in Petah Tikva and Rishon LeZion, with plans to expand to Haifa, Beersheba, and Jerusalem. The initial investment in this new network is approximately 15 million shekels. Eyal Gur, CEO of Shlomo Group, stated that Shlomo NEW represents a strategic move to broaden the group's activities in the private vehicle market, leveraging their experience and infrastructure to integrate vehicle selection, financing, and maintenance.

Industry observers note that the scale of investment in showrooms and infrastructure is typically associated with car importers rather than used car dealerships. This has led to speculation that Shlomo NEW could serve as a foundation for the group's future direct or indirect car import activities. Shlomo Group already holds licenses for indirect import of car brands, including Toyota, and its sister company, Shlomo Motors, is the importer of BYD vehicles in Israel, suggesting these new showrooms might also feature BYD's zero-kilometer and used car offerings.

This expansion reflects a broader trend in the Israeli automotive market, where car importers and leasing companies increasingly engage in cross-sector activities. Major car importers now commonly operate their own financing, private leasing, and operational leasing services for fleets, managing tens of thousands of vehicles collectively.
