Israeli Cantor Detained at Budapest Airport Over Fake Banknote
Cantor Elhanan Mishmarati was detained for questioning at Budapest Airport in Hungary upon his return from Uman, Ukraine, where he had been for the Rosh Hashanah holiday. Mishmarati was reportedly detained because he received a counterfeit banknote as change. He was released after several hours but missed his flight. Uman is a pilgrimage site for many Breslov Hasidim, who travel there to celebrate Rosh Hashanah at the grave of Rabbi Nachman of Breslov.
