Eli Albag Slams 'No Other Land' Filmmakers, Demands Government Resignation

Eli Albag, father of hostage Liri Albag, launched a scathing attack on the creators of the film "No Other Land" following its win at the Venice Film Festival. Albag accused the filmmakers of endangering national security, stating, "They harmed the country's security. There is no forgiveness for this." He expressed extreme anger, saying, "Give me their address. I will personally go to them and explain with my own eyes that I am looking for Liri for 477 days." He referred to the filmmakers as "a gang of criminals" and "scum of the human race."

Albag linked the film's controversy to broader national security failures leading up to the October 7th Hamas attack. He criticized decades of perceived strategic misconceptions by political and military leadership, calling October 7th a "symptom" of policies that coddled Hamas, referring to it as a "monster" that was considered an "asset" while the Palestinian Authority was deemed a "burden."

He called for an immediate change in government, asserting that a new leadership would unite the nation. Albag recounted personal suffering, including being physically attacked and having eggs thrown at him when he publicly appealed for his daughter's release during her captivity. He questioned the country's direction during such times.

Furthermore, Albag criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, questioning his leadership and his alleged support for advisors receiving funds from Qatar. "What do we expect from this prime minister? He should just go home. He has done his part. He has been prime minister for 18 years. I hope the people have woken up and said: The time has come. For the prime minister to leave and get on with his life," Albag stated.
