Retired General Predicts Iranian Regime Collapse, More Arab Nations Joining Abraham Accords

Retired Major General Eliezer Marom, known as 'Cheiny,' believes the Iranian regime is facing collapse and that more countries will join the Abraham Accords. Marom stated that the Houthi rebels now control the Bab al-Mandab Strait, making it difficult for Saudi Arabia to navigate. He suggested this crisis could trigger a significant regional shift, leading to the expansion of the Abraham Accords and further isolating Iran.

Marom outlined the Houthi perspective on escalating the conflict, noting their assertion that they are fighting Saudi Arabia and that Israel and the United States are not involved. He conveyed the Houthis' message that if Israel or the US wish to transit the strait, they are permitted to do so, as the Houthis do not seek to broaden the war or involve additional parties with the Saudis.

According to Marom, this situation leads to the conclusion that a major regional development is imminent. He asserted that Saudi Arabia recognizes the indispensability of the Abraham Accords and that the United States remains the dominant force in the region. This, he believes, directly impacts Iran, which he described as isolated with no genuine support, despite claims of Chinese and Russian backing.

Marom further elaborated on Iran's strategic shift, noting their encirclement of Israel with proxies and their unprecedented direct attacks on Israel, which elicited a strong response. He characterized Iran as a nation in severe economic distress with a bleak future, highlighting its vulnerability to attacks on its oil refineries, a problem Iran lacks a solution for, unlike a country with an Iron Dome defense system.

"We are heading towards a different Middle East, likely," Marom concluded. "The Iranian regime will eventually fall, I think. Eventually, more and more countries will join the Abraham Accords. We are heading towards a completely different picture."
