Davida Scores Against Former Club, Celebrates Like Eran Zahavi
Maccabi Tel Aviv defeated Hapoel Tel Aviv 2-1 on Monday, with a crucial goal scored by Ohad Davida. Davida, who came up through Hapoel's youth system and played for their senior team, including in the 2021 cup final, scored the go-ahead goal just minutes after Hapoel had equalized. He celebrated his goal with the "pew pew" gesture famously associated with Israeli football star Eran Zahavi, marking his first league goal against his former club.
Davida has now scored two league goals this season, surpassing his total of three from the entire previous year. Last season, he only featured in one derby against Hapoel Tel Aviv, coming on as a substitute late in the game.
