Israel Launches Nationwide Tourism Month with Discounted Events
Israel's Ministry of Tourism is preparing for a national "Israeli Tourism Month" initiative aimed at encouraging domestic travel, boosting local tourism, and supporting businesses in the sector. The event is scheduled to take place over four consecutive weeks in November 2026, following the summer vacation and holiday periods.
The initiative will feature activities spread across four main geographical regions, with a different area focusing on major events each week. This approach is designed to allow people across the country to participate. A key component will be performances by leading artists offered at a subsidized price of just 18 shekels per ticket, a format similar to last year's successful program to make cultural and leisure events accessible.
The Ministry has also issued a "call for proposals" to businesses and stakeholders in the tourism industry, including hotels, guesthouses, restaurants, attractions, parks, tour guides, and local businesses offering tours and activities. The goal is to create a broad range of tourism experiences and encourage participation.
The program will divide activities by week and region: Jerusalem and its surroundings, the North, the Western Negev and the South, and Tel Aviv and the Center. Planned events include flagship activities, guided tours, nature excursions, events in Gaza border communities, and cultural performances in urban and seaside venues. A detailed schedule is expected to be released later.
The Ministry views the involvement of local businesses as a way to increase traveler traffic and generate demand for hotels, guesthouses, and tour guides. The subsidized ticket prices for performances aim to make cultural events accessible to a wider audience and strengthen tourism activity throughout Israel during November.
