Lapid's Office Accuses Likud of Lying, Prioritizing Coalition Funds Over Security
The office of opposition leader Yair Lapid responded to a statement from the Likud party, which accused Lapid of endangering national security. Lapid's office asserted that the Likud is "lying again and endangering national security." According to Lapid's statement, he supports transferring funds to the defense establishment, emphasizing the need to provide the IDF with all necessary tools to complete its missions.
Lapid insists that the budgetary source for these funds should not come from raising taxes on the working and serving public. Instead, he demands the money be reallocated from "corrupt coalition funds" and the "billions that are transferred annually to fund the Haredi draft-dodging."
Lapid's office stated that this position was communicated in a closed meeting attended by IDF representatives.
