Israeli Insurer Offers $55 Gift Card for AI-Driven Car Insurance Sign-ups
Direct Insurance, an Israeli insurance company, has launched a novel promotion offering a 200 shekel ($55) gift card to customers who purchase comprehensive car insurance after arriving at the company's website via leading artificial intelligence tools. These AI platforms include ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, Claude, and Perplexity.
The company aims to adapt to the evolving consumer journey, which increasingly begins with AI-powered search engines rather than traditional ones. Direct Insurance has developed technology to identify traffic originating from these AI tools, enabling a tailored digital process for customers to receive the promotional benefit. This initiative is also expected to provide the company with strategic insights into which platforms Israelis prefer for price comparisons and decision-making.
Merav Klipper-Peretz, Vice President of Marketing at Direct Insurance, stated that the search landscape is undergoing its most significant transformation since the advent of traditional search engines. She added that this move allows the company to engage with customers at their decision-making point and offer added value.
This marketing strategy coincides with a period of strong financial performance for Direct Insurance. The company reported record results for the second quarter of 2026, with a total profit of approximately 117 million shekels, a 16% increase compared to the same quarter last year. Following these robust results, the company's board approved a dividend distribution of about 80 million shekels to shareholders.
