Lebanese TV channel Al Mayadeen, which is identified with Hezbollah and the pro-Iranian axis, reported Thursday evening that Iran's delegation has decided to suspend its planned trip to Switzerland. The report said the move is a protest against continued Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon.
According to the Lebanese outlet, citing a knowledgeable source, Tehran has sent a clear warning to the United States and the mediating countries. Iran said the Lebanese front is a central and critical factor in whether the negotiations continue or are stopped entirely.
The source also said Iranian officials are angered by Israel's recent military activity. Tehran warned the mediators that Israeli strikes carried out up to 10 kilometers inside Lebanese territory amount to a blatant and direct violation of the first clause of the memorandum of understanding signed between the sides.
