Ben Shoshan announced his departure on Instagram, stating that Walla has shifted towards clickbait, AI-generated content, and a less in-depth approach, diverging from the journalistic standards he valued.
In his post, Ben Shoshan reflected on his tenure, expressing pride in his work and the people he collaborated with. However, he noted a "big picture" change at Walla over the past year, leading to his decision to leave. He described the current Walla as "no longer the Walla I came to five years ago."
Ben Shoshan is embarking on a new independent path. He plans to increase his focus on his social media presence, including Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, where he will continue to cover major global tech events and news from the field. He also announced the upcoming launch of a new content platform developed by UPNext.innovate, which will feature his continued reporting on technology and related news.
Furthermore, Ben Shoshan revealed he will be moving into television, hosting a new technology program on Channel 10, the economics channel, set to premiere next month.
