Daniel Peretz's Southampton Defeats Bristol City in Israeli Derby

Southampton, with Israeli goalkeeper Daniel Peretz in net, secured a decisive 4-1 victory over Bristol City, featuring Israeli player Lis Adams, in a Championship League match on Saturday. The win propelled Southampton to seventh place in the league standings, four points behind leaders West Ham.

Despite a strong start from the visiting Bristol City, who had won their previous three matches, Peretz made several key saves in the opening half-hour. Southampton eventually took control, with top scorer Adam Armstrong leading the attack. Armstrong scored twice, in the 38th and 61st minutes, with Finn Azaz providing an assist for the first goal and scoring the fourth himself in the 85th minute. Ruedi Makatshuki added Southampton's third goal in the 82nd minute.

Bristol City managed to pull one goal back in the 66th minute through a strike from Taylor Gardner-Hickman, deflected in by Matty Sykes, ending Peretz's bid for a clean sheet. Peretz has yet to record a clean sheet in seven league appearances this season.

Lis Adams played the full 90 minutes for Bristol City and received a yellow card. His team now sits in 10th place and has not won a league match since December 2011. Southampton, which began the season with a four-point deduction, continues its climb up the table.
