Pink Slams Macklemore Over Antisemitic Remarks, Defends Israel
Singer Pink posted a sharp critique on social media ahead of Rosh Hashanah, targeting rapper Macklemore for his recent performance alongside Ed Sheeran. During the show, Macklemore displayed war images and addressed Jewish attendees, stating the messages were not directed against them. Pink countered, "You can't decide that for us," and referenced Macklemore's past use of an antisemitic costume, which included a Star of David and sidelocks.
Pink declared that "this love has a guest list and we are not on it." She also addressed the online hate she has received regarding her identity, stating, "I was born Jewish, I have never hidden it... I have defended other nations throughout my career, and now I stand by my people. I knew it would be lonely, but it is even lonelier." She clarified that she does not represent Israel or any government, reiterating her stance that "Hamas is a terrorist organization. Palestinians deserve a future that respects their humanity and aspirations. Protecting innocents comes before everything."
As a Jewish mother, she emphasized her right to be concerned without being accused of supporting genocide. Pink concluded her message with holiday wishes, intending to light candles and dip apples in honey with her children.
