Abulafia Bakery Chain Opens Third Branch in 2026 in Central Tel Aviv
The Abulafia bakery chain, led by brothers Tarek and Ziad Abulafia, is continuing its expansion with the opening of a new branch in Tel Aviv on September 18. Located at Dizengoff Street 106, this marks the third new location opened by the group in 2026, a milestone representing the fastest expansion in the brand's history with three branches opened in less than a year.
Founded in 1879 by Massoud Abulafia, the bakery is one of Israel's oldest food businesses. Its original location remains in Jaffa's Old City. The family has grown the business into a well-known brand, famous for its Arabic-style pastries like pita, mana'eesh, bagels, sambusak, and pizzas, as well as sweets such as baklava and knafeh.
The chain's expansion beyond Jaffa has accelerated over the years. Previous openings include branches in Rishon LeZion and Tel Aviv's Ibn Gabirol Street in 2007, and more recently, a branch in Kfar Saba in 2024 near the Tzemeth Mall.
Currently, the Abulafia group operates branches in Tel Aviv's Allenby Street, Herzliya Marina, and Kfar Saba. It also has kosher branches in Tel Aviv's Azrieli Center and at Menora Hall. Additionally, the group runs the Opera branch on the Tel Aviv promenade and "Shawarma Liah by Abulafia" in Herzliya Marina.
The new Dizengoff Street branch strengthens Abulafia's presence in the heart of Tel Aviv, complementing its existing network in the Gush Dan region and adding another key location in a central urban area.
