Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is trying to shape any final deal with Iran, according to an Israeli source cited by CNN. The source said Netanyahu plans to do this by working through hard-line media figures, such as podcast host Mark Levin, and through “friendly” senators in order to pressure U.S. President Donald Trump.
According to one of the sources who spoke to the American network, Netanyahu does not believe a final agreement between the United States and Iran will be reached. He also reportedly thinks Tehran is not genuinely prepared to accept restrictions on its nuclear program.
The report frames Netanyahu’s effort as an attempt to influence the outcome of the negotiations before any final accord is reached.
