Teacher Injured in Negev Shooting Denies School Involvement

A teacher, Urwa Nasser, who sustained moderate injuries in a shooting incident in Hura, a Bedouin town in the Negev, on Saturday, stated that the school, its students, or their parents had no connection to the attack. Nasser, speaking from his hospital bed, also clarified that he had not received any threats and had no disputes with anyone. He expressed hope that the police would apprehend the perpetrators.

Nasser, who is in stable condition and expected to be released from the hospital in two days, emphasized that combating violence is a collective responsibility, requiring the cooperation of all individuals and peacemakers, not solely the police. The incident prompted the Teachers' Union to announce a two-hour suspension of classes at Al-Baya'dar Elementary School in Hura on Sunday, as a protest against the shooting.
