JD Vance Clashes With Protester, Robert Kennedy Jr. Praises Israel

U.S. Vice President JD Vance engaged in a heated exchange with a protester during his speech at a Republican conference ahead of the midterm elections. The demonstrator interrupted Vance's remarks while waving a Mexican flag. Vance responded from the stage, telling the protester, "If you love Mexico so much, move your ass down there. I'll buy you a plane ticket."

Later in his speech, the audience began chanting "48, 48," referring to the number associated with Donald Trump, expressing their hope that Vance would run for president after Trump. Vance, however, did not commit to a future presidential run, stating, "Let's take care of this November, and then we'll worry about November 2028."

Also addressing the conference was U.S. Health Secretary Robert Kennedy Jr., nephew of former President John F. Kennedy. Kennedy made an unusual reference to Israel, using it to illustrate what he described as the divergence between the Democratic Party of the past and its current state. He stated that Democrats once "stood with Israel as a bulwark of democracy, and as a beacon of press freedom and religious freedom; as a refuge for LGBTQ, women, and ethnic and religious minorities, within a regional sea of intolerance, misogyny, child marriage, human slavery, and ethnic and religious genocide."

Kennedy further asserted that Democrats previously viewed Israel as "America's most important ally on the front lines of the fight against the toxic ideology of Islamism," which he characterized as an ideology waging war against the United States and Western liberal democracy.
