Musician Plays "Am Yisrael Chai" to Prove Saxophone is Instrument
Israeli musician Nir Rubin was asked by a security checker at an airport in Azerbaijan to prove that his saxophone was indeed a musical instrument. Rubin, traveling with his orchestra led by Erle Nachshoni to perform at a wedding in Moscow, was on a layover in Azerbaijan on his way back to Israel.
Instead of a conventional demonstration, Rubin chose an original approach. He began playing the song "Am Yisrael Chai" (The People of Israel Live) on his saxophone, while his bandmates danced around him. The security personnel were reportedly unsure how to handle the unexpected performance.
The incident, which occurred during a security check, was captured on video and has since gained attention.
