TV Anchor Riva Rappaport Celebrates 29th Birthday with Industry Colleagues

Riva Rappaport, a news anchor and reporter for Channel 16, celebrated her 29th birthday on Wednesday evening. The celebration, held at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Herzliya, brought together friends and colleagues from various media outlets and political spheres.

Notable attendees included Guy Lerer, host of "HaTzinor"; Yaakov Eilon, anchor for Channel 16's main news broadcast; Ram Lands, who managed the establishment of Channel 16; and Moishiko Mushkovitz, the channel's digital manager. Rappaport's colleagues from Channel 16, including Natalie Matoko, Maayan Oron, Rotem Golan, Amit Hason, Shlomi Gil, Sahar Elimlech, Dov Eichler, and Matanel Weitzman, were also present.

The event saw a diverse mix of guests from other media organizations, such as Naama Kadosh, Eran Bar-Tal, and Meirav Lerner from the Economic Channel; Ravid Adri from "HaTzinor"; Efrat Avivi from Galatz; Shir Ziv from V1; Romi Harush, former reporter; and Lihi Shaefer from Nas Daily. Representatives from the political system included Omer Manzur, spokesperson for the Prime Minister, and Shmuel Sebah, spokesperson for Education Minister Yoav Kisch.

Rappaport, who grew up in the Haredi community, began her media career at Kikar HaShabbat News before moving to prominent Israeli media outlets including Channel 14, "HaTzinor," and Keshet 12. She currently serves as a culture anchor and reporter for Channel 16.

Reflecting on the event, Rappaport stated, "It was important for me to connect all my friends, from all worlds and all times. I didn't even know most of them a few years ago. I started my life anew at 24 with two children, got divorced, and started working in television, so I felt that a birthday was an opportunity for me to connect everyone." She also posted on Instagram, calling birthdays a "melting pot" where "left, right, Mizrahim, Ashkenazim. Everyone needs to connect together. Lots of affirmative action."
