Former Israeli PM Olmert Slams Government's West Bank Policy

Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert launched a scathing attack on the current government's policies in the West Bank, describing them as an "attempt at ethnic cleansing." Speaking on the radio station 103FM, Olmert warned that the IDF Chief of Staff could become a target at the International Criminal Court in The Hague due to his formal authority over occupied territories.

Olmert asserted that hundreds, if not thousands, of individuals within the system, supported by a civilian apparatus and sometimes actively aided by police and army units, are carrying out these actions. He specifically pointed to ministers Ben-Gvir and Smotrich as symbols of this "brutal policy," though he stated others are also complicit.

He accused security forces of discriminatory practices, citing the Defense Minister's alleged declaration not to issue administrative arrest warrants against Jews, while continuing to do so against Palestinians. Olmert claimed that in cases of Jewish terrorism against Palestinians, authorities often arrest only the Palestinian victims.

Addressing reports that Prime Minister Netanyahu was warned before the October 7th attacks, Olmert stated, "If he did not pass on the information, it was a treacherous act of crime." He also discussed his new book, "Arizona We Are All," revealing that previously censored details about the nuclear reactor could now be disclosed due to changed circumstances in Syria.
