Tanya Lauren Marries Kevin Mikwaman After Completing Conversion
Israeli singer and social media star Tanya Lauren, formerly of the band "Formula," is marrying her partner Kevin Mikwaman this evening. Lauren, who has approximately 182,000 Instagram followers, announced their engagement with a post titled "The Beginning of Forever." Photos from the wedding day have been released, showing Lauren's first look before meeting Mikwaman at the chuppah.
The wedding follows a significant personal journey for Lauren, who underwent a complex and emotional conversion to Judaism. Born in Israel to a Jewish family and raised in Jerusalem, Lauren discovered at age 12 that she was not considered Jewish according to Halakha (Jewish law). This revelation led to years of feeling alienated, facing ostracism, and experiencing bullying.
Even as an adult, including during her military service, Lauren attempted to convert but faced obstacles, hurtful remarks, and rejection from a rabbinical court, reportedly because she sang in public. Despite heartbreak and feeling her efforts were insufficient, she maintained her faith and fought for her identity.
After years of perseverance, Lauren officially completed her conversion, adding the name "Tanya Oriya Lauren." Now feeling whole, strengthened, and happier than ever, she is walking down the aisle with Mikwaman to begin their new chapter together.
