Arab Israeli Politician Accuses Senior Likud Official of Admitting Government Failure

Yosef Haddad, a prominent Arab Israeli figure and second-ranked candidate for the Am Israel party, has accused a senior Likud politician of admitting the current government's significant failures in private conversations. Haddad shared on social media platform X that several months ago, this unnamed Likud official confessed that the government had "failed badly" and expressed doubt about the right-wing bloc's electoral prospects unless new candidates emerged.

Haddad further stated that during a more recent conversation, the same official presented a completely different stance. According to Haddad, the official recited talking points and attempted to create fear regarding the Am Israel party, which he described as "the new spirit in the right-wing camp." Haddad dismissed these attacks, asserting that increased criticism only strengthens his party.

Earlier on Thursday, the Likud faction held a meeting attended by former Channel 14 host Yaakov Bardugo. The discussion reportedly focused on the political future of MK Yuli Edelstein, with the party debating whether to attack him or support him to help him pass the electoral threshold and potentially aid the right-wing bloc. The newly positioned candidate urged a swift decision on Edelstein's situation, warning against waiting until the last moment, referencing the case of Naftali Bennett's rise.

Haddad, who is actively involved in Israeli politics, has been a vocal proponent of strengthening the right-wing camp and has previously stated his intention to work towards this goal.
