Former Education Minister Rabbi Shai Piron Launches New High-End Kosher Restaurant in Tel Aviv

Former Israeli Education Minister and Rabbi Shai Piron is embarking on a new venture, partnering with internationally acclaimed chef Ohad Amzallag to open a high-end kosher restaurant in Tel Aviv. Piron, who previously led the "Meaningful Learning" reform in the education system and served as president of the "Pnima" movement, is now shifting his focus to the culinary world.

The new establishment, located on Lilienblum Street, will offer elegant "chef cuisine" with a French flair. A key feature of the restaurant is its kosher certification, and uniquely for the local scene, it will operate throughout the weekend. This initiative aligns with Piron's social agenda of bridging divides between religious and secular Israelis, aiming to foster a shared culinary space where diverse groups can gather without compromising religious observance or the dining experience.

Chef Amzallag, who recently returned to Israel, previously achieved international recognition with his Paris restaurant "Gafen," which earned a recommendation in the prestigious Michelin Guide. The collaboration between the Paris-trained chef and the former minister is expected to make the Tel Aviv restaurant a prominent and talked-about destination in the city's burgeoning culinary landscape.
