A new complaint was filed on Thursday with Israeli police against Gaur Levy, the 25-year-old Tel Aviv resident already under investigation for alleged rape and for filming women in fitting rooms at the TLV Mall. The latest allegation says he filmed a young woman without her consent during a sexual act, in an incident she says happened several years ago.
Levy’s attorney, Shir Aharonson, said the complaint concerns “an event that allegedly took place several years ago” and argued that the time that has passed and the circumstances require a careful review of all evidence before any conclusions are drawn. She said, “My client denies the allegations against him,” and added, “The investigation is in its final stretch. I believe that once it is completed the full picture will become clear.”
Police are still examining the complaints in the case. According to the police representative in Levy’s remand hearing, when investigators presented evidence in the two filming and harassment cases, Levy said one complainant had shouted at him while he was in a nearby fitting room and claimed she saw him filming her. The officer said cameras seized from the store showed that he did indeed film the woman.
The same police account described a separate rape complaint. A woman alleged that Levy came to the pub where she works, said he knew her, bought alcohol for her and a friend, then later persuaded her to come to his home. There, she said, they used drugs and drank again. She later felt disoriented and unwell after going to the bathroom and then going to bed. Police said she later consulted her ex-boyfriend, who she had broken up with about a month earlier, spoke with friends, and went to Ichilov Hospital for tests out of fear she might be pregnant or infected. Levy was brought to questioning after young women who identified him contacted police, and he was arrested in a Florentin apartment after his photo and details were published. He was questioned and then remanded in custody.
