Ismail Haniyeh's Sister Testifies in Israeli Court, Claims Illiteracy

Sabah Haniyeh, sister of the late Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, testified Thursday in the Beersheba Magistrate's Court as part of legal proceedings against her for identifying with a terror organization and incitement. During her testimony, Haniyeh claimed she is illiterate and cannot read or write. She addressed the use of a phone that was central to the court's questioning, stating that her family members use the device and assist her in reading messages sent to her. When she needs to send a message, she alleged, her children send it for her. "Everyone who lives in the house uses it, as needed. All the children in the house play with the phone," Haniyeh stated in her testimony. Her brother, Ismail Haniyeh, was a senior leader in the Hamas terror organization and was killed in Tehran in July 2024.
