Widow of Fallen Hero Arnon Zmora Shares Painful New Reality

Michal Zmora, widow of Israeli hero Arnon Zmora, who fell during a rescue operation in Gaza, recently marked what would have been his birthday. She shared her profound grief on social media, describing the date as once one of the happiest of her life, now a painful reminder of their past. "This is a day when sadness intensifies and envelops everything, more than ever," she wrote.

Zmora recounted how the occasion, previously filled with baking, candle-lighting, and celebratory dates, has transformed. "In the previous life, I would bake a chocolate cake, we would light candles, I would write a note, and we would go on a date at a restaurant. In this life, there will be a bonfire with dear friends. This is the situation," she explained. Despite the sorrow, she noted that the day would be spent surrounded by loved ones, aiming to find moments of laughter.

She also reflected on the shift in her emotional landscape, stating, "It's so disappointing that all the dates that used to be happy have become sad." Earlier, Michal Zmora had shared news about her book, 'Greater Than the Sum of My Parts,' which began its pre-sale. She revealed that the journey to write the book started about a year prior during a writing retreat for war widows, where she discovered writing helped her organize her thoughts and emotions.
