Halachic Ruling Allows Gas Stove Extinguishing on Holidays

Rabbi Binyamin Houta, a prominent halachic decisor, has issued a ruling clarifying the permissibility of extinguishing gas stoves on Jewish holidays, specifically during the intermediate days of Sukkot (Yom Tov).

In his daily "Halacha in 60 Seconds" segment on the website Kikar HaShabbat, Rabbi Houta explained that it is permissible to turn off a gas stove on Yom Tov by disconnecting the thermocouple. He advised waiting until the flame is extinguished after separating the thermocouple, stating this action is permitted without concern.
