The scope of recently announced British sanctions targeting Israeli settlements in Judea and Samaria could be adjusted based on the policies of Israel's next government, according to a British official speaking to The Times of Israel. While the UK government retains flexibility in implementing these measures, the official did not indicate the possibility of their complete annulment.

London has not set explicit conditions for reviewing the sanctions, but key demands include curbing settlement expansion, ending settler violence, fostering political dialogue with Palestinians, and refraining from actions that weaken the Palestinian Authority. These developments occur as Israel approaches parliamentary elections, with a close contest anticipated between political blocs.

The British official also referenced recent disputes, including the E1 settlement project and Israel's decision to close the British consulate in East Jerusalem. Meanwhile, local business owners in the settlements have warned that the new trade restrictions could significantly harm their businesses and affect Palestinian workers employed there.
