LGBTQ+ Community Members Without Family Support Offered Free Holiday Meal

The Association for LGBTQ+ Support, in partnership with the Tel Aviv Gay Center, will host a free holiday meal for members of the LGBTQ+ community who are estranged from their families or will be alone during the upcoming holiday. The event aims to provide a festive and inclusive gathering for approximately 300 participants who lack family support or a place to celebrate.

This initiative, held twice a year around Jewish holidays, seeks to create a sense of community for LGBTQ+ individuals, particularly during times when the emphasis on family gatherings can exacerbate feelings of loneliness or isolation. The organizers emphasize that the meal is more than just food; it's an opportunity to connect with others, feel a sense of belonging, and avoid spending the holiday alone.

"For quite a few LGBTQ+ people, this can be a particularly complex and lonely time," stated a representative from the Association. "This holiday meal is much more than food around a table. It's the chance to come to a place where people are waiting for you, where you can feel you belong, and where no one has to spend the holiday alone. This is precisely the meaning of community, and we also invite the public to take part and allow us to open the table to as many people as possible."
