New Ritual Bath Cornerstone Laid Near Gaza Border

A cornerstone-laying ceremony for a new mikveh (ritual bath) was held yesterday at Kibbutz Kerem Shalom, just meters from the Gaza border. The event was attended by Rabbi Chaim Levi, chairman of the organization overseeing the project, local council head Lior Dafner, regional Rabbi Ariel Igra, and community representatives.

During a key moment of the ceremony, local residents and children, who have experienced the trauma of combat, participated in mixing cement and pouring the foundations for the new structure. Attendees described the moment as historic, symbolizing a connection between past destruction and renewed construction.

The organization stated that establishing the mikveh at this location is not merely an architectural project but a national and spiritual declaration. They added that as the structure rises opposite the border fence, it will serve as living proof of the promise 'I will build you again and you shall be built' and a testament to the triumph of life and continuity in the Gaza envelope communities.
