Rosalía in Talks to Join Alma Har'el's New Film 'Wet'

Spanish Grammy-winning singer Rosalía is in negotiations to join "Wet," the upcoming film directed by Israeli filmmaker Alma Har'el. The film, described as a family drama set on a superyacht with comparisons to "Succession" and "Triangle of Sadness," is slated for production in Spain early next year. If the deal is finalized, Rosalía would star alongside actors Javier Bardem, Rebecca Ferguson, and Odessa A'zion, who are also in talks to join the project.

Bardem's potential involvement is notable given his vocal criticism of Israel in recent years. The Oscar-winning Spanish actor has been a prominent voice against the war in Gaza, previously signing a petition calling for boycotts of Israeli film institutions and advocating for sanctions against Israel. He also appeared at the Emmy Awards wearing a keffiyeh.

Har'el, an acclaimed Israeli-American director based in the U.S., gained recognition for her documentary "Bombay Beach" and her directorial debut feature "Honey Boy." She also directed the miniseries "Lady in the Lake" starring Natalie Portman.

Rosalía, a global music superstar known for albums like "LUX" and "Motomami," has had previous acting roles, including a small part in Pedro Almodóvar's "Pain and Glory" and a role in the third season of "Euphoria."

"Wet" was written by Har'el and Christian Stangby, based on Stangby's original screenplay. Fifth Season is financing and producing the film.
