Gallant Criticizes Netanyahu's Conduct on October 7th

Former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant sharply criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's conduct during the initial hours of the Hamas attack on October 7th, during a Channel 12 interview. Gallant stated that he arrived at the Kirya military headquarters at 8 a.m. that morning, while Netanyahu did not arrive until 10 a.m., creating a two-hour gap.

Gallant described Netanyahu's demeanor as "worryingly defeatist." He also disputed claims that he spoke with Netanyahu by phone during those critical early hours, stating, "I don't remember such a conversation." Gallant urged the public to compare photographic evidence of himself and Netanyahu from that day and the following days, suggesting the images would reveal who appeared to be in shock.

The former defense minister also addressed reports of a phone call between the Prime Minister and the President of the United Arab Emirates, during which Netanyahu was allegedly warned of a potential Hamas attack. Gallant stated he had no information confirming the call took place but acknowledged that a prime minister could potentially conceal such a conversation if they wished.
