Samaria Regional Council Head Urges Housing Minister, Land Authority Official to Resolve Dispute
Samaria Regional Council Chairman Yossi Dagan has called on Housing and Construction Minister Haim Katz and the acting director of the Israel Land Authority (ILA), Yehuda Eliyahu, to meet immediately and resolve their ongoing dispute. Dagan urged the two officials to set aside their differences and resume their joint work on construction and settlement development.
Dagan's appeal comes amid rising tensions between Katz and Eliyahu. The Samaria council leader, who stated he has maintained continuous contact with both men for years, described them as dedicated to building the country and implored them to settle their disagreement within hours.
"Haim Katz and Yehuda Eliyahu are two wonderful people, builders and lovers of the Land," Dagan said. "I call on both of them to meet tonight, to resolve their differences, and to work together with even greater vigor for the building of the Land of Israel and the strengthening of settlements, as both of them so desire."
Dagan emphasized that a return to cooperation between the Housing Minister and the acting ILA director would advance their shared goal of developing the country and expanding construction. He urged them not to let the crisis impede the necessary work in the settlement sector. Dagan added that he believes the public will benefit from their renewed collaboration, leading to continued construction nationwide. He concluded that the people of Israel will gain if the two resolve the crisis and return to working together.
