Jerusalem Construction Site Shut Down Over Illegal Workers
Police in Jerusalem have issued a 30-day administrative closure order for a construction site located on Shimon Mitzri Street after discovering 20 Palestinian laborers present without legal permits. The operation, conducted by detectives from the Oz station and Border Police officers in the Jerusalem district, identified the individuals as residents of the West Bank staying and working illegally.
Citing security risks and violations of the law, Jerusalem District Commander Superintendent Avshalom Peled signed the administrative order. The police emphasized their ongoing commitment to combating the phenomenon of harboring, employing, and transporting illegal residents, which they state poses a significant potential risk to public safety. Authorities intend to prosecute those involved.
