Lebanese Media Buzz Over IDF Tank Filmed in Southern Lebanon

Lebanese media outlets have been discussing footage circulating over the past day that allegedly shows an Israeli Merkava tank in the village of Zawtar al-Sharqiyah, purportedly emitting laser beams from its turret. The Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation, Kan News, confirmed Wednesday evening with security officials that the tank in the video is indeed an Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) "King of the Lions" model. This tank type was classified until recently, with its operational status in the Armored Corps and its "special capabilities" only permitted for publication about a year ago. Among these capabilities are advanced enemy identification and detection systems.
