Shas MK says Netanyahu should publicly back Torah students after Highway 4 protest

Shas lawmaker Michael Malkieli criticized the police response to the ultra-Orthodox extremist protest on Highway 4 in an interview with ynet’s studio. He said, “What happened yesterday was crime in uniform.”

Malkieli also attacked Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara, saying, “The attorney general is creating anarchy in the streets, she is a member of the opposition.”

Asked whether he was angry at Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s handling of the issue, Malkieli answered, “Of course.” He said Netanyahu should publicly support Torah students and declare on camera, “I support Torah students, the obsessive persecution by Miara and the uniformed officers against innocent people.”
