Channel 14 Journalist Accuses Colleague of Political Campaign Funding

Channel 14 journalist Yishai Friedman has leveled accusations against fellow journalist Shlomi Eldar, following a report claiming Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu received a warning call before the October 7th Hamas attack. Friedman alleges that Eldar received funding from the left-wing organization "Derech'enu" (Our Way) for a podcast.

According to Friedman's report, Eldar confirmed receiving payments from Derech'enu for the podcast, which focused on the events. Friedman claims that after Eldar's report was published in the newspaper Haaretz, Eldar began collaborating with Derech'enu to promote publications on the organization's platforms, including through podcasts and videos. It is further alleged that these videos were pre-produced, even before Eldar's own publications.

Friedman's report also suggests connections between individuals managing Derech'enu and the Democratic Party in the United States, naming Avishai Ben-Aron, Yaya Fink, and Naama Lazimi. The report claims the organization is controlled by members of the "Ha'Chalon" (The Pioneer) movement, who are also members of the Democratic Party.

Based on these claims, Friedman asserts that this constitutes a political campaign in which Eldar and Haaretz are participants. He also raised questions about Eldar's disclosure of his collaboration and payment from Derech'enu to Haaretz, asking if Eldar disclosed that he was part of a political election campaign for Democratic Party activists.
