A 21-year-old Israeli man was arrested in Cyprus and ordered held for eight days on suspicion of attempted murder after a fight outside a nightclub in Ayia Napa. Four people were injured in the incident, including a security guard.
According to local police, two Israelis were involved in a confrontation with a young Cypriot man outside the club, and two security guards tried to separate the sides. During the clash, one of the Israelis pulled out a knife and stabbed the Cypriot man as well as two of the guards.
Police said a knife believed to have been used in the stabbings was found at the scene and sent for forensic testing as part of the investigation. A second Israeli, aged 22, was also arrested while hospitalized, on suspicion of involvement in the incident.
