Retired General Calls Netanyahu's Iran Policy a Major Development
Retired Major General Yiftah Ron-Tal stated on Wednesday that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's declared goal of overthrowing the Iranian regime is a significant development. Speaking on Radio Galey Israel, Ron-Tal emphasized Netanyahu's explicit statement that the "ultimate goal is to defeat Iran's ability to harm the State of Israel by toppling the regime."
Ron-Tal noted that this marks the first time an Israeli Prime Minister has clearly articulated such an objective. He speculated that Netanyahu might be coordinating this stance with the U.S. President. "For the first time, the Prime Minister of Israel, and he is not saying this just like that, I think he is coordinated on this with the President of the United States, says very clearly: Our goal is to replace the regime," Ron-Tal said.
He believes this policy shift could bring about a historic security change in the Middle East and globally. Ron-Tal described the situation as "a drama, no less."
