Late-Night Shouting Match Erupts Over Knesset List Placement

A heated, late-night argument involving shouting occurred in the Prime Minister's office over the decision to reserve a spot on the Likud party's Knesset list for Yaakov Bardugo, according to reports. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his family reportedly favored placing close associates, referred to as "trench people" from Channel 14 and social media, onto the list.

The dispute reached a peak with a sharp overnight clash between two factions within the Likud and the Prime Minister's office. One side urged Netanyahu to focus on regaining voters who left the party in the last term, suggesting figures like Elisha Medan and Talik Guili. They argued that including Bardugo would undermine this effort and alienate these potential voters.

Ultimately, the opposing viewpoint prevailed, with Netanyahu deciding to incorporate "both sides." This decision led to Bardugo being placed on the list, alongside other individuals favored by the other faction.

Journalist Raviv Drucker commented on the decision, calling it a "mistake." He suggested that Bardugo demanded the spot and Netanyahu felt compelled to agree, possibly due to Bardugo's leverage and desire for a senior ministerial position.
