Umm Al-Fahm Family Department Hosts Foster Care Awareness Event

The Parent and Family Department at the Umm Al-Fahm Community Center, affiliated with the municipality, recently hosted an awareness and informational meeting for women focused on foster care and foster families. The event aimed to raise community awareness and empower women by engaging them in humanitarian and social issues.

The meeting provided an opportunity to learn about the "Mataf" Association for Foster Families, its work in adoption, and its role in supporting and training foster families. Discussions covered the concept of foster care, its humanitarian and social dimensions, and the positive impact foster families can have on children needing care and a stable home environment.

Social workers Haya Abu Kashk Shehri and Yasmin Masalha Younes led the session, offering comprehensive information on foster care and answering participants' questions in an interactive atmosphere. Andalus Ighbariya, director of the Parent and Family Department, welcomed attendees and emphasized the importance of such events for connecting women with community initiatives and humanitarian fields.

Ighbariya stated that the department is developing diverse programs centered on women, offering not only content related to parenting and family but also new avenues for learning, knowledge acquisition, and engagement with community services. She highlighted the Community Center's commitment to empowering women and fostering their role as active partners in building a more aware, supportive, and responsible society.

The event aligns with the Community Center's vision to strengthen the role of families and women, encourage community initiatives, and connect women with available resources. The center continues its work through various departments and programs to create valuable spaces for women and families, enhance community awareness, and support women's active participation in society.
