Eran Zahavi Questions Mourinho's Fit for Real Madrid's Coaching Role

Israeli footballer Eran Zahavi commented on the return of José Mourinho to Real Madrid for their Champions League match against his former club Inter Milan. Zahavi expressed skepticism about Mourinho's suitability as a coach for a team like Real Madrid, particularly when managing favored squads.

"The teams with which Mourinho won the Champions League were not favorites or dominant with the ball," Zahavi stated. "He did not succeed in controlling the game and playing fluid, attractive football with the favorite teams he coached. That's not it."

Zahavi suggested that Real Madrid needed a different type of coach, one who could leverage the talents of players like Vinícius Júnior and Kylian Mbappé, rather than demanding more defensive effort from them. "If I were Real, I would perhaps even make Mourinho a professional manager and not a coach," he added.

He implied that Mourinho's coaching style might be better suited for a different role within the club, rather than directly managing the team on the field, especially given Real Madrid's ambition to play attractive, dominant football.
