Hapoel Rishon LeZion has become one of the busiest teams in the Liga Leumit transfer window as it pushes hard for promotion after narrowly missing out at the end of last season. The club from the city of wine has already added Shahar Amsalem, Ronen Peretz, Shay Konstantin, Shavit Elgabi and Uri Tzaddon, and it is still active in the market.
On Wednesday evening, the club also reached agreements with two more signings, Aaron Shapso and Dolev Azoulay. Shapso played for Ironi Tiberias in the Israeli Premier League last season, while Azoulay came from Hapoel Nof HaGalil.
Rishon LeZion is also negotiating with Ihaab Abu al-Sheikh, who played for Hapoel Ra’anana last season, and with Eve Ransom, who left Hapoel Jerusalem. Ransom is also in talks with Kiryat Yam, and no final agreement has been reached with any side.
One player who will stay is Lithuanian striker Eligijus Jankauskas. After arriving last season following a spell as top scorer in Lithuania, he will remain for a second year and is expected to be the team’s leading forward.
