Veteran Journalist Slams Netanyahu's Knesset List Appointments
Senior Israeli journalist and commentator Ben Caspit has launched a scathing critique of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's recent appointments to the Likud party's list for the 26th Knesset. Caspit expressed strong disapproval of the process, questioning Netanyahu's judgment and the overall management of the political maneuvering.
"He had months to plan this. Long months. And how he fought for these spots. In the end, it looks like this," Caspit stated, drawing a parallel between the appointments and the perceived state of the country. He sarcastically referred to Netanyahu as "Mr. Security" and a "super-statesman from another league," before concluding with "What misery. What shallowness."
Caspit specifically pointed to recent controversial placements, including tech entrepreneur Oren Dubronsky, who withdrew his candidacy due to his American citizenship, and former Labor MK Eli Goldschmidt. "Couldn't it have been verified beforehand that the patriot Oren Dubronsky didn't want to give up his American citizenship? Or checked Eli Goldschmidt's record?" Caspit questioned sarcastically.
Looking ahead to the finalization of the Likud list, Caspit hinted at further potential controversies, remarking, "Wait, we haven't even talked about Bardugo yet. More will be said."
