New Tech Hub for Druze Youth Honors Fallen IDF Officer
A new accelerator center named in honor of Lieutenant Colonel Mahmoud Kheir-El-Din, a Druze officer killed during a covert operation in Gaza in 2018, has opened in Usfiya. This initiative marks the first program of its kind for the Druze community in Usfiya, aiming to foster early-stage startups and integrate young Druze individuals into Israel's high-tech industry.
The accelerator was conceived by Qaptan Halabi, a community activist and recipient of the Presidential Award for his work supporting the Druze community in Israel. Halabi is also the founder of the Association for the Advancement of Druze Soldiers.
The center will provide resources and support for young Druze entrepreneurs, helping them develop their business ideas and connect with established tech companies. The program seeks to bridge the gap in high-tech representation for the Druze community and create new opportunities for its youth.
