At the G7 summit in Évian, France, on Wednesday, U.S. President Donald Trump said that if Iran does not honor the agreement, the United States will quickly resume bombing. He said Washington has already sent the draft to Israel and hopes to sign the deal “tomorrow or the day after.”
Trump also addressed the fighting in northern Israel, saying Israel has been a “good partner” but “clearly should have dealt with Hezbollah better,” adding that it failed to contain the group. On Lebanon, he said the Lebanese president is expected to visit the United States in the next week or two.
He added that “peace with Lebanon is only a small part of the whole Middle East puzzle,” signaling that any Lebanese track would be tied to a broader regional arrangement.
