Haifa Municipality Attempts Illegal Eviction of Haredi School

The Haifa Municipality attempted to illegally evict a Haredi girls' school located in the "Nu"sh" neighborhood earlier today. Reports indicate that individuals involved in the eviction broke into the building, removed mezuzahs from doorposts, and caused significant vandalism, just one day before approximately 350 students were scheduled to attend.

Video footage from the scene showed overturned chairs in a classroom, illustrating the extent of the damage. Police officers, who were called to the location, ordered the municipal inspectors and employees of the property management department to leave the premises.

Local council member and chairman of Degel HaTorah in Haifa, Miki Alper, arrived at the scene and worked with the Haifa police to remove the trespassing municipal workers. He stated that the eviction attempt was contrary to a court ruling, as the building is currently allocated for independent education.

The news site "Kikar HaShabbat" reached out to the Haifa Municipality for a response but had not yet received one at the time of reporting. The municipality's actions were reportedly in violation of a court order regarding the building's allocation for independent education.
