Otzma Yehudit Candidate Praised Soldier Who Attacked Arafat Memorial

Tzachi Eliyahu, a candidate for the Otzma Yehudit party in the upcoming elections, has drawn attention for his social media activity. Eliyahu, who is listed in the eighth position on the party's slate, offered free accommodation in his northern suite to a reserve soldier who vandalized a memorial to Yasser Arafat in southern Lebanon. Eliyahu also offered a vacation to a Border Police fighter who was being investigated by the Police Internal Investigations Department, writing, "The fighter that the Internal Investigations Department wants to investigate, you have a vacation gift at my Zimmerim [guest houses], get in touch."

Furthermore, Eliyahu posted a picture with Elor Azaria, the former IDF soldier convicted of manslaughter for shooting a subdued Palestinian attacker. In the post, Eliyahu referred to Azaria as a "little hero brother" and stated that "finally, some justice was done to you for the injustice done to you. We will not forget and will not forgive those who took part in this." In another image, Eliyahu displayed a tattoo of the symbol of the Kach movement, a Jewish extremist organization founded by Rabbi Meir Kahane, which has been designated a terrorist group.
