Channel 12's Evening News Unveils New Opening Sequence After Nine Years
Channel 12's flagship evening news broadcast is set to introduce a new opening sequence, marking a significant visual change for the program after nine years of consistency. This marks the first major overhaul of the broadcast's introduction since the split of Channel 2 into two separate entities, Keshet and Reshet, nine years ago. Keshet moved to Channel 12, while Reshet went to Channel 13. While Channel 13 has undergone several rebranding efforts, Channel 12 has maintained a stable on-air identity until now.
The new opening will feature journalists, reporters, and commentators from Channel 12, signaling readiness for the evening's broadcast. The "Main Edition" of Channel 12 News previously served as the main broadcast for Channel 13 for about a year and a half. However, following the merger of Channel 10 with Reshet in 2019, Channel 13 established its own news edition. Since then, Channel 12's main news program has consistently achieved the highest ratings in Israel, solidifying its position as the country's leading news source.
