Ben Gvir Offers Senior Aide Realistic Spot on Jewish Power List; Aide Declines

National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir offered his senior advisor, Ariel Alharar, a realistic position on the Jewish Power party's list for the upcoming Knesset elections. Alharar, who serves as the minister's communications advisor and leads the party's spokesperson unit, thanked Ben Gvir for the trust but declined the offer.

Alharar stated that the upcoming election campaign is critical for Jewish Power and the right-wing bloc. He emphasized that with media outlets frequently attempting to diminish the achievements of the minister and the party, a strong spokesperson and public relations apparatus is particularly essential. Therefore, he requested to continue in his current role, focusing on the party's success in the elections.

Ben Gvir reportedly holds Alharar in high regard and wished to strengthen the party's list with experienced and recognized figures. Alharar, a veteran of the Haredi media world, has been a senior communications advisor to Ben Gvir for several years and has led the party's media and public relations during a turbulent period. He is married with four children and has previously written opinion pieces on various topics, including calls for Haredim to carry weapons and address terror threats, as well as strong stances on security and political issues.

Alharar's refusal underscores his commitment to his current role and his understanding of the importance of a robust media strategy leading up to the elections. Jewish Power recently finalized its Knesset list, including MK Tali Gottlieb in the second spot and Haredi activist Yossi Goldberger in ninth place.
